The Theory behind 'The Year We Cooked a Book'
So, we're a husband and wife team who love to cook, and we love to try new recipes. Cooking (and eating) is fun for us!
But, this year, we decided to embark on a challenge to cook a whole cookbook, within a year.

But, this year, we decided to embark on a challenge to cook a whole cookbook, within a year.
We chose to cook 'My Kitchen' by James Martin for several reasons:
- It has a wide variety of flavours and styles within the book
- It is separated into 4 seasonal sections - making sourcing ingredients really easy
- The food looks and sounds great
So, let's get cooking - we have 1 book, 1 year and 118 recipes to go!
Oh and there's one additional challenge - one of us has to follow a gluten free diet, so we'll be experimenting with some of the recipes to make them gluten free. This could be more tricky than it sounds...but the proof is in the pudding so we'll give it a go.
We'll be posting pictures of each recipe as we go along the year (so average of about 2 times a week). Today is 21st March, and we're cooking our first recipe tomorrow - what we consider to be the first day of spring! Stay tuned for a photo update...
Hope you enjoy it :)
